Game version checked: 1.0.12 (10 September 2026 patch). Built from Hound13's Steam patch notes and livestream Q&A plus the community wiki, named inline.
Sion is documented almost entirely through bug fixes. Hound13 has never written a trailer post, a kit description or a balance note for him. What exists is four patch lines, and they happen to be unusually informative — because each one tells you what the Relic is by describing a way it used to break.

The Relic is a physical object on the map
Our roster page gives him one line: "Places a Relic on the field." Patch 1.0.10 (20 August 2026) tells you what kind of thing that is, by grouping it:
Fixed an issue where the aim target of projectiles was misdirected when certain objects were placed - Othello's [Ice Spear] object - Cerese's [Ice Pillar] - [Relic] placed by Sion - Charlotte's [Clone]
That is the most useful sentence anyone has written about Sion. The Relic sits in the same category as an ice spear, an ice pillar and a clone — a persistent world object with collision, solid enough that the game's own auto-aim was targeting it instead of enemies. It is not a buff aura or a status effect; it is a thing you put down and that other things can bump into.
Which means two practical consequences worth knowing before the fix and after it. Before 1.0.10, dropping a Relic in a ranged team's firing line was actively harmful. After it, placement is free of that penalty — but the Relic is still a body in the arena, and this game's status ailment and Signal system is built on hitting the target you meant to hit.
The dodge key was eating it
Patch 1.0.8 (7 August 2026) is four fixes with one shared cause — dashing by holding the dodge key:
- Fixed an issue where the character was switched to non-combat state when using dash by holding the dodge key - Fixed an issue where Sion's Relic placed on the field was retrieved when using dash by holding the dodge key - Fixed an issue where Theresia's [Inquisition] state was ended during combat when using dash by holding the dodge key - Fixed an issue where Kalsion's [Royal Flame] state was ended during combat when using dash by holding the dodge key
Our roster page already records this cluster. Read from Sion's side, the detail that matters is the verb: the Relic was retrieved, not destroyed. So placement is reversible by design — there is a pick-up, and a held dodge key was triggering it by accident. If you played him in the game's first two weeks and could never keep a Relic down, that was this.
This also puts him in a specific group: three heroes whose persistent state was being silently cancelled by a movement input. The other two are Theresia and Kalsion. All three are worth re-testing if you formed an opinion pre-1.0.8.
The dodge key got a lot more interesting in 1.0.11
The same patch that touched Sion added the game's first dedicated defensive mechanic. Hound13's specification, verbatim:
Added a new feature that triggers Just Dodge when perfectly evading an enemy attack with Dodge. When Just Dodge triggers, the following effects are applied: - 1 second of invincibility - 3 seconds of guaranteed critical hits - 10% recovery of Active Skill Rage gauge - Half of the Dodge Stamina cost is recovered
That is a global change, not a Sion change, but it lands hardest on a hero whose relationship with the dodge button has been fraught since launch. Three seconds of guaranteed crits is a large window, and the Rage refund feeds Active Skills directly.
And he can move in combat now
Also in 1.0.11:
Fixed so that Sion can now perform parkour while in combat state.
Hound13 does not say why this was Sion-specific, and no other hero is named. Not confirmed: whether other heroes always could and Sion was the exception, or whether this is a new capability. What is clear is that vertical traversal mid-fight is now available to him and was not before — in an open-world game where the bosses page records arena geometry mattering, that is a real positioning tool.
Patch 1.0.12 (10 September) does not mention him at all.
Where he sits
His faction is the Organa Order — Theresia, Ornette, Sion and Tarte, per the community wiki. Our config/heroes.json classifies him as a story unlock, meaning he joins as the campaign progresses and never costs a Fate's Invitation. The unlock planner therefore never has to price him, which removes the only decision most heroes present.
On ailments he is a blank. Neither the roster page nor the ailment coverage page records one for him, and nothing in the patch notes through 1.0.12 names one. That is a genuine problem for team building in a game where Signals arm off ailments — until somebody documents what the Relic does, you cannot plan a chain around him.
What this page cannot tell you
What the Relic does once placed, his weapon, his ailment, his Karma trait, his Awakening effects, his skill names beyond [Relic], and whether the Relic can be destroyed by enemies. Hound13 has published none of it, and no player-written Steam guide covers him. Everything above is inference from four maintenance lines, and it is labelled as such.
