First, what kind of game this is

DragonSword: Awakening is an open-world action RPG, not a roguelite. One persistent Continent of Orbis, eight story chapters, nothing resets and no procedural stages. If you arrived expecting run-based progression, that expectation will fight you for the first hour.

The main story runs roughly 10 to 15 hours by the producer's estimate, or about 20 to complete all eight chapters.

What is in this section

Pages that explain the systems deciding fights rather than listing what is in the game.

Start with the beginner guide if you have just bought it. Go to the combat page if your damage feels like it is being ignored — that is usually an element gate rather than a gear problem. Read the cooking page as soon as you notice there is no natural HP regeneration, because food is the healing economy and only one hero can heal on demand.

The chapters and bosses page maps the eight-chapter story and the three places players wrongly conclude they are stuck. The co-op page explains what multiplayer actually covers (2-player Subjugations, 3-player Raids — not the open world) before you buy a second copy. The FAQ answers the buying questions, including why this is no longer a gacha game.

The boss list reads seventeen boss names and their difficulty gates out of the achievement data, the achievements page maps where players actually stop, familiars and gear, runes & karma cover the two collection systems, and patch notes & roadmap tracks every update we can read, in order.

The system requirements page is worth reading even if your PC is comfortable: it carries the -dx11 workaround for the D3D12 crash Hound13 has acknowledged, and the save-backup path, which several players have needed the hard way.

Three things that trip people up early

Basic attacks are not filler. They do very little damage but chip skill cooldowns and build ailment stacks. If your skills feel permanently unavailable, you are treating basics as a fallback instead of the rhythm.

You can only equip two consumables. With three party slots and one healer in the entire roster, that constraint shapes every fight. Decide deliberately rather than carrying whatever you cooked last.

Patch 1.0.7 changed recovery substantially. Goddess Statue usage is now unlimited, and dungeon entry and wipe recovery restore you to full HP with the party revived. Complaints you may read about respawning at 20% health are outdated. What has not landed is a [Retry] button — Hound13 delayed it explicitly.

How to read these pages

Every page ends with a Sources checked box naming exactly what it was verified against: the Steam store listing, Hound13's own patch notes and announcements, player-written Steam guides, or individually attributed reviews and discussion threads.

Where something is not documented, the page says so rather than filling the gap. That matters here — the game shipped on 22 July 2026, and most of what currently circulates about it is auto-generated from the store page.

What is not here

No full cooking recipe table and no complete boss-by-dungeon list. Both exist only on sources we cannot verify, and a wrong ingredient list costs you materials that take real time to gather across the continent.
