DragonSword Patch Notes 1.0.4

DragonSword: Awakening shipped on 22 July 2026 and has taken ten patches since — the newest, 1.0.10, landed on 19 August 2026, with a 1.0.11 preview already dated for 3 September. This page was last verified against the official feed on 31 August 2026. It is the update record, the announced roadmap, and — deliberately — a list of the things being repeated elsewhere that we cannot stand behind.

Start with the honest caveat, because it shapes everything below.

Our record starts at 1.0.4, not 1.0.1

Steam's official news feed for this game only reaches back to 28 July 2026 as of 12 August 2026. The announcements for 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 are not retrievable from it, and Hound13 does not mirror patch notes anywhere else we could find.

Our own beginner guide refers to "1.0.1 through 1.0.8" and to a Frame Generation crash fixed in 1.0.2. That came from an earlier check we were not able to repeat this time. We are flagging that rather than quietly restating it, and we will restore those three entries here if the notes resurface.

Every patch we can read, in order

VersionDateWhat it was
1.0.430 Jul 2026Large. Localisation (including Thai characters), combat and control changes, balance, 10 quest fixes, systems, graphics, 11 further items
1.0.530 Jul 2026A single quest blocker — Adventure Quests 15–18
1.0.631 Jul 2026Content: summer costumes and weapon skins
1.0.76 Aug 2026The big one. Systems, quality of life, 14 quest fixes, 23 bug fixes
1.0.87 Aug 2026Four bugs, all with the same cause
1.0.913 Aug 2026Progression economy: bigger yields and rewards, 7 team slots, 2-hour World Boss respawns, a new Nightmare achievement
1.0.1019 Aug 2026Inventory deletion for specific item categories, menu and multiplayer refinements, projectile-targeting and camera fixes
1.0.11previewed for 3 Sep 2026Announced 28 August by preview video: multiplayer enhancements, a new "Just Dodge" mechanic, lock-on improvements, hero balance, quality-of-life

Two 30 July patches on the same day is not a typo — 1.0.5 exists to fix one thing.

1.0.4 was mostly a balance and unblocking patch

The balance side raised World Boss rewards, adding EXP, Emblems, Chronographs and Memory Fragments, and raised Sudden Mission rewards to Fragment of Sacred Light ×60. Five Lowest-Grade materials — Monster Essence, Hide, Bone Fragment, Carapace and Claw — were added to the gold shop. Those three changes are why farming advice written in the game's first week reads oddly now; the payouts moved. What they feed is on our gear and Karma page.

The unblocking side names enemies and quests directly, which is useful because Hound13 has published no quest list: fixes for Igniter Snickrak defeat blocking, Marmot King Hog's puzzle mini-game blocking, Adventure Quest 37's Harpy monster placement, and a treasure chest that stayed locked after defeating Snark. Also in there: the Tower of Trials reward claim display, Abyssal Direwolf re-mounting fall damage, and the Adventure Quest 59 icon.

Combat and control adjustments landed for Dana, Roxy and Eileen among others — the per-hero detail is on the heroes page.

1.0.5 is the only place four quest titles are published

The whole patch fixed Adventure Quests 15 to 18 getting stuck at a "talk to Ornette" step, and in doing so it printed their titles: Ornette's Request, Preparing for the Funeral, Experience as a Special Diplomatic Envoy, and Despair and Hope.

That is a small thing that says something larger. Quest names in this game are documented only where a bug happened to touch them, and the numbering runs to at least 59 — 1.0.4 fixed an icon on Adventure Quest 59. Anyone publishing a complete quest list is not getting it from Hound13.

1.0.6 was cosmetics

Summer costumes and weapon skins for Astria, Reina and Cerese. No system changes.

1.0.7 is the patch that dates older guides

If you read anything about this game written before 6 August 2026, check it against this list first:

  • The Goddess Statue of Organa usage limit was removed entirely. Statues are now unlimited.
  • Dungeon entry and wipe recovery now start you at full HP with all fallen characters revived. Complaints about respawning at low health are outdated — see cooking for what that did to the healing economy.
  • Rune inventory expanded 200 → 500, with a quantity display added.
  • 4-star Rune Synthesis now yields 5-star Runes.
  • Map markers raised 100 → 200.
  • Quick Entry added for multiplayer, plus a lobby search range setting. Retry was explicitly delayed to the following week.
  • A dismount-with-attack-button setting for familiars, and familiars and characters now keep their dash state through jumps and falls.
  • Menu shortcut key toggle and a background audio setting.
  • Fixes: multiplayer guest screen display, Ursula Raid shot direction, achievements failing to unlock in multiplayer, and the equipment reforge display.

Fourteen quest fixes and twenty-three bug fixes sat under that, unenumerated here.

1.0.8 is four bugs with one cause

Every fix in 1.0.8 traces to the same input: dashing by holding the dodge key. It was dropping characters out of combat state, retrieving Sion's placed Relic, ending Theresia's [Inquisition], and ending Kalsion's [Royal Flame].

If you play those three and your states keep cancelling for no visible reason, patch past 1.0.8 before you rebuild anything.

1.0.9 moves the progression economy, not the combat

Where 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 fixed things, 1.0.9 (13 August) changes how fast you progress, and in one place it changes what completion means:

  • Team menu slots go 5 → 7, so two more saved team compositions.
  • World Bosses and Sudden Mission monsters now respawn 2 hours after defeat — farming routes built around daily spawns are obsolete as of this patch.
  • Gathering and mining yields are up, and so are clear rewards across dungeons and raids, with Normal, Currency and Trait Dungeons paying out instantly rather than at the end.
  • The Codex now shows where each hero is obtained — which quietly answers a question this wiki had filed under "not documented" (see the heroes page).
  • The Ursula Raid loses a phase and goes straight into the dragon form.
  • A new achievement for clearing Barduk on Nightmare was added — and Hound13 states a prior clear does not count retroactively. If you already did it, you are doing it again.
  • The fix list runs through Dana's and Theresia's hero quests, raid ready-checks, lobby loading, set effects not applying in multiplayer, Charlotte/Cerese/Roxy/Kalien bugs, and a Steam Deck cooking-cooldown error.

The direction matches 1.0.4: when this studio touches balance, it raises payouts rather than nerfing players. Three patches in a row have now made farming faster.

1.0.10 cleans up the edges

The 19 August patch is a maintenance pass in three areas. Inventory finally allows deleting items in specific categories — a quality-of-life gap players had flagged since launch. Menus and multiplayer get system refinements. Combat gets fixes for projectile targeting and camera behavior. Nothing in 1.0.10 changes builds or the progression economy; if your guides were correct under 1.0.9, they still are.

1.0.11 is previewed, not shipped

On 28 August Hound13 published a preview video for 1.0.11, dated 3 September 2026: multiplayer enhancements, a new "Just Dodge" mechanic, lock-on improvements, hero balance adjustments and quality-of-life features. Names and dates are from the official preview; exact values and the balance list are not published yet, so nothing here treats them as final. We will update this page when the patch and its full notes land — a balance pass means the tier list gets re-checked too.

The Workshop mod policy that lasted zero days

A footnote for the record, because it will confuse searchers later: on 24 August Hound13 posted an advance notice of a Steam Workshop support plan and mod policy — and retracted it the same day, stating that the previous guidelines were withdrawn and no enforcement had occurred. As of 31 August there is no announced Workshop support and no standing mod policy. Any page describing DragonSword Workshop rules as current is citing a retracted notice.

The roadmap, and where it comes from

Be clear on the provenance: the roadmap below is a report about an official broadcast, not an official document. Simulation Daily (Andrew McMahon, 19 June 2026) wrote it up citing "Hound13 Inc. livestream (Stream #4)". The hero descriptions match what our heroes page already carried from separate research, which is reassuring, but it is still one outlet.

Four free heroes, released in this order, planned for the second half of 2026:

OrderHeroDescribed as
1Ryza"A shock-specialized character. She throws her spear, then teleports to its location to continue the assault"
2Jerome"A small-statured character wielding a massive greatsword", with a three-stage grab
3Veronica"Stun is her primary attribute — she fires a gun at range and engages in martial arts up close"
4Logan"A tank-type character who attacks with a massive shield and protects allies"

No release date has been published for any individual hero as of 12 August 2026, and none of the four had appeared in patches 1.0.4 through 1.0.8.

Also on the announced list: new Hero Quests; a Rift System, described as "dimensional portals found throughout the world"; quality-of-life work on controls and controller support; a camera system rework; and a Photo Mode. Nothing in the patches we can read mentions Rifts or Photo Mode, so as of 12 August 2026 all five remain announced rather than shipped.

The same report gives the editions as $29.99 standard / $49.99 deluxe and states "no microtransactions beyond the announced costume and Familiar DLC."

Sky Island: named by Hound13, price undecided

One future content item has an official name and no settled status. Hound13's FAQ lists Sky Island with its pricing — including whether it is free at all — not finalised. The same FAQ has Steam Workshop support "under review" and in-town player chat at a planning and development review stage.

Caveat on all three: we read that FAQ through Steam's news feed and could not capture the announcement page verbatim, so treat the wording as approximate and the substance as directional.

The 10 August livestream, and what this page will not claim about it

Announced on 7 August: an eight-hour broadcast on 10 August 2026, 11:00–19:00 KST (19:00 PT on 9 August through 03:00 PT on 10 August), hosted by producer JYJ and PM Hooon. Billed contents were "detailed development plans and future content direction", a live Q&A, and "behind-the-scenes and development stories". Audio was Korean with English subtitles generated by live speech-to-text, and Hound13 warned in advance that a first attempt at that might come out rough.

We still have no reliable record of what was announced during those eight hours. Re-checked 13 August: the official Steam feed carries no recap post — between the 11 August milestone thank-you and the 1.0.9 notes there is nothing — and the official YouTube channel's newest stream VOD, “DragonSword : Awakening Livestream #6”, is very likely the broadcast but is not dated in a way we could verify without watching it. That is a gap in our research, not a claim that nothing was announced. Until we can watch or read a reliable account, this page describes the announcement and not its contents — and anything presenting stream announcements as confirmed features is working from a source we could not find.

The same announcement listed the milestones below, plus 10,000 Discord members and 5,000 followers on X.

English dubbing is not on the record

This is the most-asked question about the game and the answer is unsatisfying, so here is the actual state of the evidence as of 13 August 2026.

On the record, dated: Hound13's staff account replied on 12 April 2026, "Unfortunately, as for voice support, we only have plans to provide Korean dubbing."

Not on the record: in August a Steam thread titled "ENGLISH DUBBING confirmed, boys!!!" pointed at a timestamp in a video as proof. We attempted to retrieve that video three times and were rate-limited every time, so we have not verified it and we are not going to relay a claim we could not open.

So: one dated official statement saying Korean only, and one unverified player relay saying otherwise. Demand is not in doubt — the longest thread on the board is "No ENGLISH voice/dub in 2026? No Thanks." at 202 replies, with a 169-reply pinned voiceover thread behind it. We will rewrite this section the day we can watch the source, in either direction.

Milestones, and why a roadmap page cares about sales

Hound13's own words on 11 August 2026: "The wishlist count that grew one at a time has now reached 1 million, and since launch, 300,000 of you have stepped into the Orbis Continent."

Alongside that: an all-time concurrent peak of 23,030 players set on 26 July (12 August reading); and, re-read on 1 September 2026, 11,744 Steam reviews, 10,549 positive and 1,195 negative — 89.8%, rated Very Positive. The review count has grown by roughly two thousand since mid-August, with the positive share holding steady. Metacritic has no Metascore yet, needing four critic reviews and holding three (INVEN 85, GamingTrend 80, HardZone 70), against a user score of 5.6/10 from 28 ratings. We print both scores because printing either alone would mislead you.

Sales belong on this page rather than in a trivia box because Hound13 tied future scope to them explicitly. On 11 May 2026, before launch, the developer wrote that story-mode co-op "is technically feasible, but realistically we won't be able to get it ready in time for launch," adding that "if the game sells well enough to secure additional development time, we believe story mode co-op — along with console support and cross-platform multiplayer — could absolutely be delivered as post-launch updates."

That is a condition, not a commitment, and no console platform, date or SKU has been announced. It does mean the 300,000 figure is a roadmap input rather than a press-release ornament.

What is missing from this page, and why

The 1.0.1–1.0.3 notes — the news feed does not reach them.

The contents of the 10 August stream — not captured by us. This is the single largest hole here and we know it.

English dub status — one dated official denial, one unverifiable community claim, no resolution.

Per-hero roadmap dates — never published for Ryza, Jerome, Veronica or Logan.

Verbatim FAQ wording on console platforms — a summary of that FAQ describes console platforms as in preparation, without further detail, but we could not confirm the phrasing against the announcement page, and it would materially contradict the conditional May statement above. Until we can read it word for word, our position stays where it was: no confirmed console version.

Still current and unrelated to any patch: the D3D12 crash Hound13 acknowledged on 28 July, with the -dx11 launch-option workaround and a permanent fix promised in a separate future notice that has not yet appeared. It is on our requirements page and it has not appeared as fixed in 1.0.4 through 1.0.8.
