DragonSword Ornette: The Only Uncontested Support

Game version checked: 1.0.10 (19 August 2026 patch). Compiled from pages already on this site — no new claims about her kit.

Two English tier lists cover this roster and they disagree about almost everything. They agree about Ornette. On a site whose tier list page exists mainly to document how badly those two rankings diverge, she is one of the four placements that page singles out as surviving both lists — and the only support among them.

The consensus, and the reason given for it

Our tier list grades her S on Pro Game Guides and S on games.gg, and records the shared reasoning: shock application plus the Holy Circle critical-damage buff makes her the roster's clearest "makes everyone else better" pick — a support whose value does not depend on which damage dealer you run.

That last clause is the part worth holding onto. Most hero recommendations on this site are conditional on a team already existing around them. Ornette's is not: a critical-damage buff applies to whoever you brought. The same page names her among the low-regret early Exchange buys for exactly that reason — Kalsion is the other consensus S pick, but he arrives free through the story, so in practice Ornette is the consensus purchase.

She also appears in that page's aggressive worked example from games.gg, stacking damage-over-time alongside Kalsion and Charlotte — burn, shock and poison layered together.

Sole Shock applier, and half of Knockdown

Our roster page records a massive scythe, sacred magic, the title Saintess of the Dawn, and two ailments: Electrocution and Knockdown.

On the ailment coverage page, Electrocution is the in-game wording for Shock, and Shock has exactly one applier: her. She joins Castella on Break and Theresia on Bleed in that group of three, each holding an ailment nobody else on the shipped roster can produce. Knockdown is slightly healthier at two appliers — Ornette and Lute.

That page also works out what the unreleased roster would change, and Shock is the one place it improves meaningfully: the roadmap hero Ryza is described as a shock specialist and is first in the release order, which means the roster's thinnest genuine element gets its second applier before anything else. Until Ryza ships, Shock access is an Ornette-shaped hole.

She breaks element gates, which very few heroes do

Our combat guide documents enemies that take no damage at all until struck with the correct element, with Soulwarden Zemoor as the standard case — weak to shock and burn, signposted by a note on a nearby staircase. It names Ornette (electrocution) as the usual answer.

Our team archetypes comparison reaches the same place from the archetype side: Shock and Burn are the only two elements this site confirms actually bypass an immunity, and neither Bleed nor Aerial helps at all in that situation. That page grades the Shock archetype as partial — applier named, payoff hero not identified in any source it read. Unconfirmed: which hero detonates Ornette's Shock.

So her element access is confirmed and her chain partner is not. Practically, that means she is safest read as the support the tier lists describe — buff and open the gate — rather than as the anchor of a Shock relay this site can document.

The four quests that carry her name

Her Hero Quest achievement, No One Will Know, Right?, sits on our achievements page at an 8.7% global unlock rate — middle of the five heroes who have one.

She has a second, stranger footprint in the record. Our patch notes page notes that patch 1.0.5 (30 July) existed to fix one thing: Adventure Quests 15 to 18 getting stuck at a "talk to Ornette" step. In fixing it, Hound13 printed all four quest titles — Ornette's Request, Preparing for the Funeral, Experience as a Special Diplomatic Envoy, and Despair and Hope.

That page draws the broader lesson: quest names in this game are documented only where a bug happened to touch them. The side effect for Ornette specifically is that hers is the only stretch of Adventure Quests whose titles appear anywhere in that record — the page's other quest references, Adventure Quests 37 and 59, are numbers without names. It says nothing about her power and quite a lot about how thin this game's documentation is.

Beyond 1.0.5, no patch through 1.0.10 on that page records an Ornette balance change or bug fix.

What this page cannot tell you

What Holy Circle's buff is numerically — the tier list names the effect, not a percentage or a duration. Nor her gear set, her Karma, her stat priorities, her skill names, or her Awakening effects; the Awakening system guide publishes per-hero effects for one hero only, and it is not her.

Her unlock costs one Fate's Invitation like every Exchange hero, which the unlock planner prices against the rest of the roster. If you want the one hero page on this site that carries a complete sourced loadout rather than a role description, that remains the Kalsion build guide.
