Valheim Fader: Bells, Ground Tells, Retreats
Scope: Vanilla standard survival; world modifiers, mods and later patches may change the rules
Language: English中文
Key points
- Summoning Fader needs three bells, and each bell is made from three bell fragments — nine fragments in total.
- Fader's moves include ground spikes, lingering fire, meteors and melee attacks, and they keep changing where you can stand.
- Bring fire protection, but fire is not a good primary damage type here — use a weapon you already know.
- After the win, look at the Eternal Pyre unlock, which feeds the early Deep North resource chain.

The most dangerous misread in the Fader fight is treating ground effects as small damage you can eat. They keep changing where you can stand, so put watching the floor and saving stamina for movement ahead of damage. As long as you still have an exit, holding a few swings costs you nothing.
Prepare three bells before you summon
Fader sits at an arena-style altar in the Ashlands. Summoning needs three bells, and each bell is made from three bell fragments — nine fragments in total; the location clues and the fragments are tied to the Ashlands fortresses, as described in the Fader entry.

Once you find the altar, look at the terrain and your route home before you sacrifice anything. Keep gathering the materials, scouting the arena and making the real attempt as separate trips, so that food, gear and rested status are all intact when the fight starts.
Fire resistance is preparation, not permission to stand still
Bring fire protection for this fight, and pay attention to the boss's own resistances: fire is not a good primary damage type here. Pick a weapon you already know and that does effective damage on this target — do not swap your entire playstyle right before the fight to save time.
Besides healing supplies, check where they sit on your hotbar. Opening your inventory to look for a potion while being chased turns a recovery window into a new risk.
When the ground warns you, reposition immediately
Fader's moves include ground spikes, lingering fire, meteors and melee attacks; the details are in the Fader entry. Do not stand on ground that is already showing a warning and wait for the attack to land before deciding whether to move.
Watch two areas: where you are standing and where you intend to go next. Leaving an old fire patch only to run into a fresh warning still costs you most of your health. When you move, avoid the reflex of backing toward a teammate and stacking two players' pressure in one spot.
When safe windows are short, shorten your combos
For melee players, one short attack you can finish reliably beats a greedy full combo. For ranged players, do not lose track of the ground while aiming. After a move ends, confirm nothing dangerous is left behind before you step into your damage position.

When extra enemies appear, deal first with whatever blocks your exit. In co-op you can split perimeter duty, but everyone still needs their own room to move. Naming someone to clear adds does not let the rest of you stand still.
How to adjust after a loss
Separate three cases: taken out by a direct melee hit, walked into a lingering hazard, or ran out of stamina. The first is animation practice, the second is a change in what you watch, the third means shorter damage windows and a different food setup. Only once you are sure the problem is gear tolerance should you focus on upgrading that piece.
After you beat Fader, store the new drops and look at the Eternal Pyre unlock, which feeds the early Deep North resource chain. Do not head north the moment the Ashlands stage ends; the next stage still needs your old workstations and a supply system that already works.
