Valheim Moder: Dragon Eggs and Safe Windows
Scope: Vanilla standard survival; world modifiers, mods and later patches may change the rules
Language: English中文
Key points
- Three dragon eggs summon Moder — move them to the altar on a separate trip from the fight itself.
- Confirm frost resistance, food and Rested before you summon, and check your melee weapon's durability too.
- In the flying phase move first and shoot second; once she lands, position beats greed.
- Dragon tears are used for the artisan table and are an important prerequisite for the Plains crafting chain.

Before you challenge Moder, move three dragon eggs to the altar area, then schedule the fight itself. Hauling eggs and killing the boss do not belong in the same trip: one is about routes and carry weight, the other needs full supplies, gear durability and clean ground. The summoning method and attack types are listed under Moder.
Make the mountain readable first
Look at the slopes, rocks and exits around the altar, and deal with threats you have already spotted nearby. Start the fight when visibility is good, and place your respawn point somewhere the fight will not easily reach. A fall down the mountain or getting stuck on an obstacle can hurt you more than a direct hit.

Confirm frost resistance, food and rested status before you summon. Bring enough arrows for this attempt, and check the durability of your melee weapon too — do not assume the whole fight happens at range.
Flying phase: move first, shoot second
While Moder is airborne you can look for damage with a bow, but keep watching her ranged attacks. Do not stand in one place drawing for long stretches; read where the attack is coming from, get out of the landing zone, and only then decide whether to keep aiming.
If you keep getting hit mid-draw, shorten each damage window on purpose and leave time to look and move. The flying phase is not only about chipping health — it is about arriving at the landing with your status intact. One arrow less for a full stamina bar is often the better trade.
Grounded phase: position beats greed
Once she lands, Moder has melee attacks and a breath attack, so finally being able to reach her is not a reason to stand still and swing. Approach from a flank you have already looked at, hit a short combo, then watch for the next animation; when a dangerous wind-up starts, get out of the attack path first.
Do not treat terrain that briefly inconveniences the boss as permanent safety. Once she turns or moves, your spot may no longer work. A stable plan rests on animations you can recognise again, not on hoping she stays stuck behind the same rock.
In co-op, avoid creating problems for each other
Spread out, and tell your team when you are pulling back or moving in. Ranged players need to watch the attacks instead of putting all their attention in the aiming reticle; melee players should not drag danger toward someone who is recovering. For a teammate in bad shape, the most useful support is sometimes just leaving them an exit.

Do not leave the dragon tear behind
Dragon tears are used for the artisan table and are an important prerequisite for the Plains crafting chain — see Dragon tear. Back home, check your workstations and what the next recipes need before deciding what goes on the first Plains trip.
If the attempt fails, write down the air-phase problems and the ground-phase problems separately. One is usually not enough movement, the other an over-long melee combo, and they need different fixes. Do not let "upgrade more gear" stand in for a real review; correct the one step that cost you the most first.
