Valheim Bonemass: Blunt Hits, Poison Resist
Scope: Vanilla standard survival; world modifiers, mods and later patches may change the rules
Language: English中文
Key points
- Ten withered bones summon Bonemass, and it takes blunt damage much better than the types you used on The Elder.
- Drink poison resistance before the fight and bring enough for its real length — resistance is not immunity.
- Only three things to watch: the melee swing, the poison cloud, and the adds that turn a duel into an encirclement.
- The Wishbone helps you find buried silver later, but it does nothing about cold and does not replace a pickaxe.

Do not reuse your Elder tactics on Bonemass. It resists several common damage types and takes blunt damage much better, so build a normal run around a blunt weapon and poison resistance. Summoning takes ten withered bones — see Withered bone. Do not reach the altar short of bones, or with a backpack of arrows expecting the last fight again.
Fix the ground under your feet first
Check the altar area for deep water, obstacles and ordinary enemies, and carve out a route you can move along continuously if you need to. Put your respawn point outside the fight area so that the walk back after a death does not pass under the boss.

Drink your poison resistance before the fight starts, and bring enough to cover the time the fight will really take. It reduces poison risk; it does not let you park inside a danger zone and trade damage. High-health food and enough stamina matter just as much.
Only three things to watch
Watch the melee swing, the poison cloud, and the adds it throws out. The cloud keeps generating danger, and the adds turn a duel into an encirclement — the mechanics are covered in Bonemass.
Keep every attack inside a short window: read the animation, deal with it or avoid it, then hit back. When the cloud appears, leave the bad spot first and get ground you can move on again; do not ignore it because you drank a potion. This is exactly where new players mistake resistance for immunity.
When adds appear, stop staring at the boss health bar
The adds change your movement and your recovery windows. Anything directly threatening your escape route comes first; clear the space, then go back to the boss. In co-op you can name one player to watch the perimeter, but that does not free everyone else from watching their own feet and back.

If you collapse after the same wave every time, change how you clear rather than pouring in more ore. When the problem is the chaos the adds cause, heavier armour usually just delays the loss.
Why a bow feels so slow here
When your damage type does not match the target's resistances, plenty of hits can still add up to very little. Check your weapon type before you check your arrow count. For a first attempt on a normal progression pace, a weapon you can reliably obtain at this stage that deals effective damage usually beats hunting for special gear across biomes.
After the kill, check the Wishbone
Make sure you collect the key drops. The Wishbone helps you find buried resources later, especially silver in the Mountains, but it does nothing about cold and does not replace a mining tool. Go home, repair, eat, sort out frost resistance, and then pick a mountain worth exploring.
If the fight goes badly, review it by asking whether the poison resistance had expired, whether you were surrounded by adds, and whether your attacks emptied your stamina. Finding the specific cause gets you closer to a win than repeating the same failing plan.
