Bongo Cat Events and Paw Pass: Full Timeline

Bongo Cat runs limited seasonal events that usually last three to four weeks and add 20 exclusive items to the drop pool; when an event ends, those items stop dropping. Since September 1, 2026 there is also the monthly Paw Pass, with free and paid tracks and rewards that never expire. Collab giveaways are listed too.

How does the Paw Pass work?

The Paw Pass brings new cosmetics every month instead of only at seasonal events. The launch post sets out the rules:

The pass opens from the ticket button at the bottom of the inventory. Joining late is not a problem: the developer says you can always get a Paw Pass Ticket to unlock past passes. Events still happen alongside it, and during events both tracks also drop event chests. We have not found an official number of taps per milestone, so this page does not give one.

After Bongo Royale the mode was switched off again and the Blood Splatter Skin was granted to everyone for the next 2 days "as a small sorry how bugged it was" (same post).

Collab giveaways ran alongside these. Two Bongo Cat x Indie Demos rounds gave items for trying partner demos for 5 minutes: four demos from November 17, 2025, with items given out until November 30, and three more from June 5, 2026 until June 12 (June 2026 post). Since June 27, 2026, rewards for wishlisting or trying other games were removed or moved to owning the full game, because they were against Steam guidelines (June 27 post). On September 18, 2026 the Nightwater release post said buying that game grants four Bongo Cat items: Nightwater Skin, Nightwater Backpack, Wooden Nightwater Cat and Wooden Nightwater Stick (Nightwater post).

The shelter event raised 15.000€ in total, the studio said, after topping up the 14.126€ from players (follow-up post).

What happens to event items after the event ends?

Each seasonal announcement repeats the same rule: after the end date, "the items will no longer be dropable." They stay in the inventories of players who got them, and the announcements name no other way to get them later, which leaves trading with other players; see exchange and trading for the market rules. Calendars were more forgiving. The advent calendar could be opened until December 31 even for past days, and Deluxe calendar buyers keep receiving rewards after the event.

Event odds can also shift. For the 2025 winter event the developer "moved many items to lower rarity tiers" so players would see more variety, and called it a temporary measure. During the 2025 autumn event, an Uncommon drop was more likely to be an event item, without changing the overall odds on the hats and skins page.

How do you get ready for the next event?

Keep a stock of duplicates. Before the 2025 autumn event the developer warned players not to "trade in ALL your dupli-cats" (emoji update post), and each event post then urges "exchange, exchange, exchange and open your chests" while the event pool is live. Keep the game updated, since several events required the latest version. If you play with friends, the Bongo Royale showed that events can also change multiplayer lobbies for a few days.
