Phasmophobia runs three seasonal events a year: Cursed Hollow in spring, Crimson Eye around Halloween and Winter's Jest in December. Each lasts roughly three weeks, themes a rotating set of maps, and pays out ID cards, trophies and, since 2026, cosmetics through Community and Personal goals. Twitch Drops and Double XP weeks are usually attached to them.

How do Phasmophobia's seasonal events work?

The current format dates from the first Cursed Hollow announcement in April 2025, which rewrote the rules after feedback on the 2024 events. Later events have reused them.

Two later additions matter. From Cursed Hollow 2026 the developer began "offering cosmetic rewards for the first time", adding "Going forward, this will be the case for every seasonal event." And v0.19.1.0 added a Seasonal Event toggle so a lobby can turn event maps off for a session.

No Phasmophobia post we read publishes the point totals behind any goal. Progress is shown in game; the Event Board in the warehouse has had a leaflet per event since 2024.

The Cursed Hollow 2026 cosmetics came with a catch: the challenge could be finished during the event, but "the rewards themselves will only be available at the launch of our Player Character Update". That update arrived on May 5 and its notes confirm the "Cursed Hollow Mask, T-Shirt and Necklace can be equipped from within the customisation Shop".

The Alan Wake collaboration with Remedy is the odd one out. Its patch notes call it "our one-time in-game event that brings the world of Alan Wake 2 to Phasmophobia", so do not expect it on the yearly rotation. For the event announced for this month, see the dedicated Crimson Eye 2026 page.

What does each Phasmophobia event ask you to do?

The tasks differ by theme, and Phasmophobia's developer keeps some of it secret on purpose.

  • Cursed Hollow: identify ghosts, complete objectives and find Forest Minion totems. In 2026, revealing a "lucky" Forest Minion lowered ghost speed by 10% and an "unlucky" one raised it by 10%, both stackable.
  • Crimson Eye: hunt down Blood Moon totems and complete investigations and optional objectives under Blood Moon weather.
  • Winter's Jest: complete contracts and optional objectives and locate "Krampus' jack-in-the-box items". In 2025 a bag of gifts outside each event map came with a list of items to find and drop into it.

A December 2025 patch note adds a rule worth knowing before you take risks for points: "Dead players will no longer be rewarded ghost identification event points."

The official Twitch Drops page gives six steps. In short:

  1. Open Phasmophobia on the platform you want the rewards on.
  2. On the Main Menu, find the Twitch Drops icon. A red "!" on it means there is a connection problem or you have not connected yet.
  3. Click the icon, then click Connect on the pop-up. After a few seconds a code appears.
  4. Go to twitch.tv/activate and enter the code.
  5. Click Activate and authorise the connection.
  6. Back in the game, the pop-up should now read "Connection Good!".

Since September 2025 the pop-up also shows the connected account's username and has a Disconnect button. Once you meet a campaign's watch time, the reward "will be auto-claimed and available the next time you log in to Phasmophobia". If a drop goes missing, check for a patch first: v0.18.0.1 fixed "Twitch Drop reward ID Card & Badge cosmetics" that had gone missing.

Six of the seven were posted on Steam; the August cap was announced only on the official site. Most campaigns asked for two hours of watching inside a window of about a week; the cap and the anniversary charm had four days each, and the Galaxies drop needed 30 minutes of one show. In the two 2026 campaigns with two versions, The Seer and Cool Cat, the animated one went to Kinetic Games Partner channels. The drops page says Partner Program members "will have limited time Drops and will have first access to all Drop campaigns". None of these seven announcements mentions a rerun, so treat each window as the only one.

When is the next Phasmophobia Double XP week?

The next announced window is October 15 to 22, 2026, inside the announced Crimson Eye dates. The developer calls these Double XP & Rewards.

That makes four windows announced for 2026, three of them already past on October 10. The December 2025 one covered the first week of Winter's Jest, so a similar week this December would fit the pattern, but it has not been announced.

How the regular reward multiplier is built is explained in the difficulty guide. Event rewards are in-game ID cards, badges, trophies and cosmetics; none of the 54 Steam achievements names an event, as the achievements list shows. Upcoming dates beyond October are tracked on the roadmap page.
