What are the ghost achievements in Phasmophobia?
Twenty-four Phasmophobia achievements follow one pattern: identify a ghost type for the first time. Twenty-two of them add "and survive"; The Twins and The Mimic do not. All text below is copied from the Steam global achievements page for Phasmophobia, sorted from most to least common.
| Achievement | Requirement (as written on Steam) | Players with it |
|---|---|---|
| Shade Discovered | Successfully identify your first Shade and survive | 22.5% |
| Revenant Discovered | Successfully identify your first Revenant and survive | 22.4% |
| Banshee Discovered | Successfully identify your first Banshee and survive | 22.0% |
| Hantu Discovered | Successfully identify your first Hantu and survive | 21.9% |
| Oni Discovered | Successfully identify your first Oni and survive | 21.7% |
| Spirit Discovered | Successfully identify your first Spirit and survive | 21.7% |
| Wraith Discovered | Successfully identify your first Wraith and survive | 21.7% |
| Obake Discovered | Successfully identify your first Obake and survive | 21.6% |
| Yurei Discovered | Successfully identify your first Yurei and survive | 21.3% |
| Thaye Discovered | Successfully identify your first Thaye and survive | 21.1% |
| Myling Discovered | Successfully identify your first Myling and survive | 20.9% |
| Poltergeist Discovered | Successfully identify your first Poltergeist and survive | 20.9% |
| Phantom Discovered | Successfully identify your first Phantom and survive | 20.7% |
| Mare Discovered | Successfully identify your first Mare and survive | 20.6% |
| The Twins Discovered | Successfully identify The Twins for the first time | 20.6% |
| Raiju Discovered | Successfully identify your first Raiju and survive | 20.5% |
| Jinn Discovered | Successfully identify your first Jinn and survive | 20.1% |
| Yokai Discovered | Successfully identify your first Yokai and survive | 20.1% |
| Moroi Discovered | Successfully identify your first Moroi and survive | 19.7% |
| Onryo Discovered | Successfully identify your first Onryo and survive | 19.5% |
| Goryo Discovered | Successfully identify your first Goryo and survive | 18.9% |
| Demon Discovered | Successfully identify your first Demon and survive | 18.5% |
| The Mimic Discovered | Successfully identify The Mimic for the first time | 17.3% |
| Deogen Discovered | Successfully identify your first Deogen and survive | 16.8% |
The spread is narrow: every Discovered achievement sits between 16.8% and 22.5%. Steam does not say why one is higher than another.
Not every ghost in Phasmophobia has one. The Deildegast was added in v0.18.0.0 in July 2026, and the official site's December 2025 notes list "3 new Ghost Types: Obambo, Gallu & Dayan". The Kormos is named in several 2026 bug fixes. None of those five appears among the 54 achievements.

Which Phasmophobia achievements track contracts and training?
| Achievement | Requirement (as written on Steam) | Players with it |
|---|---|---|
| Rookie | Complete 10 contracts | 31.1% |
| Professional | Complete 50 contracts | 15.7% |
| Boss | Complete 100 contracts | 9.8% |
| Extra Mile | Complete 50 optional objectives | 18.7% |
| Dedicated | Complete 30 daily tasks | 14.2% |
| Devoted | Complete 10 weekly tasks | 4.9% |
| Director | Create a custom difficulty | 12.0% |
| No More Training Wheels | Complete Training | 6.6% |
Two numbers stand out. Director, for creating a custom difficulty, is at 12.0%; an October 2024 patch note puts Custom Difficulty at level 50. And only 6.6% of players have No More Training Wheels, for completing Training, against 31.1% who have completed 10 contracts. If you skipped it, Phasmophobia's Training mission is on the main menu; our how to play guide covers what it teaches.
Which achievements track money and equipment?
| Achievement | Requirement (as written on Steam) | Players with it |
|---|---|---|
| Chump Change | Spend $1 | 41.6% |
| Fat Stack | Spend $10,000 | 20.7% |
| Cash Cow | Spend $50,000 | 13.6% |
| Break The Bank | Spend $100,000 | 9.6% |
| Bare Essentials | Unlock all tier one equipment | 25.9% |
| Tools of the Trade | Unlock all tier two equipment | 8.5% |
| Fully Loaded | Unlock all tier three equipment | 5.1% |
In Phasmophobia these count money spent, not money earned. The three equipment achievements follow the tier system introduced in August 2023, when each equipment item was given three tiers.
Which achievements track prestige, challenges and Apocalypse?
| Achievement | Requirement (as written on Steam) | Players with it |
|---|---|---|
| I | Reach Prestige I | 29.9% |
| II | Reach Prestige II | 3.1% |
| III | Reach Prestige III | 2.0% |
| Challenger Approaching | Complete a weekly challenge mode | 11.3% |
| Rise to the Challenge | Complete the weekly challenge mode 5 times | 3.4% |
| Taking All Challenges | Complete the weekly challenge mode 10 times | 1.7% |
| Bronze Hunter | Obtain the Bronze Apocalypse Trophy | 1.5% |
| Silver Hunter | Obtain the Silver Apocalypse Trophy | 1.3% |
| Gold Hunter | Obtain the Gold Apocalypse Trophy | 1.3% |
Prestige I looks out of line at 29.9% while Prestige II is at 3.1%. Phasmophobia's August 2023 progression update says "all current players have been reset to Prestige 1, level 1", which is the likely reason so many accounts hold the first one; Steam itself gives no explanation.
The three Hunter achievements are the Apocalypse trophies. The requirement, a multiplier of 6, 10 or 15 on Sunny Meadows as stated in June 2024, is laid out on the difficulty page together with the weekly challenge rules.
Which Phasmophobia achievements have no description on Steam?
Six. For these Phasmophobia achievements Steam prints the name and the unlock rate and leaves the requirement line empty.
| Achievement | Requirement (as written on Steam) | Players with it |
|---|---|---|
| Work Experience | (no text shown on Steam) | 59.8% |
| They're here | (no text shown on Steam) | 24.5% |
| The Bait | (no text shown on Steam) | 18.4% |
| Flawless Execution | (no text shown on Steam) | 15.9% |
| Escape Artist | (no text shown on Steam) | 7.8% |
| Doom Slayed | (no text shown on Steam) | 2.0% |
We are not going to fill those blanks from memory or from other guides. What can be said from first-hand data is narrower. Steam's public achievement percentages API lists all 54 Phasmophobia achievements by internal ID. Forty-eight IDs line up one to one with the described achievements, such as ACH_IDENTIFY_SHADE or ACH_COMPLETE_10_CONTRACTS. The six left over are:
| Internal ID in Steam's API | Rate in the API | Closest hidden achievement by rate |
|---|---|---|
| ACH_COMPLETE_YOUR_FIRST_CONTRACT | 59.7% | Work Experience (59.8%) |
| ACH_WITNESS_POLTERGEIST_ABILITY | 24.5% | They're here (24.5%) |
| ACH_GET_KILLED_BY_A_BANSHEE_IN_MULTIPLAYER | 18.4% | The Bait (18.4%) |
| ACH_COMPLETE_A_PERFECT_GAME | 15.9% | Flawless Execution (15.9%) |
| ACH_ESCAPE_A_REVENANT | 7.8% | Escape Artist (7.8%) |
| ACH_DOOM_SLAYED | 2.0% | Doom Slayed (2.0%) |
The pairing in the right-hand column is ours, made by matching rates, and the IDs are labels the developer chose rather than requirement text. Treat them as a strong hint about what each hidden achievement involves, not as confirmed conditions. The API and the web page were read minutes apart and, sorted by rate, differ by 0.1 on about ten of the 54 rows, which is why Work Experience shows 59.7% in one and 59.8% in the other.

Do custom games and events count towards Phasmophobia achievements?
In Phasmophobia, custom games with a 0 multiplier do not count. The v0.19.0.0 notes from August 2026 say: "Custom Difficulties with a 0 multiplier will no longer contribute towards any progress, such as achievements and leaflets." The next patch then fixed "an issue that caused several achievements to complete despite the player being on a custom difficulty with a multiplier of 0". (Official-site wording. The Steam post for the same patch words it "prevented several achievements completing and being awarded despite…"; either way the fix is that 0x games should not award them.) The notes single out 0-multiplier games only, which is what you get when you pick the ghost type yourself; they say nothing against custom games that still pay out.
Phasmophobia's seasonal events have no Steam achievements of their own. None of the 54 names an event; event rewards are in-game ID cards, trophies and cosmetics, covered on the events page.
Do any achievements unlock in-game rewards?
One link is documented. The November 2025 Phasmophobia patch notes added the Moneybags ID Card & Badge and say "This'll unlock once the player has earned the 'Break the Bank' achievement." Players who already had the achievement received the card after their first contract on the new version.
The Player Character Update notes also mention "Unique shirts for prestige and event specific achievements". They do not list which shirts go with which milestone, so we do not either.
Which Phasmophobia achievements should you go for first?
A suggested order, based only on the unlock rates above:
- The spending and contract ladders come with normal play: Chump Change (41.6%), Rookie (31.1%) and Bare Essentials (25.9%) are among the most common.
- Run Training once for No More Training Wheels. It is a single session, and more than 93% of players do not have it.
- Work through the Discovered list by playing default difficulties and staying alive after you guess.
- Start the weekly challenge early. Challenger Approaching needs one completion; Taking All Challenges needs ten and sits at 1.7%.
- Leave the Apocalypse trio for last. At 1.3% to 1.5% they are the rarest achievements in Phasmophobia.
