Last reviewed: 11 September 2026 · Newest game update reflected: 2026.08.18.12.05 (published 19 August 2026). Every other constraint achievement in this game counts things: one tower, one type, three types, four types. Elemental Carnage is the only one that names them. On level 4.1 you may use the flamethrower, the tesla coil and the orbital cryo beam, and nothing else. 18.5% of players have done it.

The exact rule
The achievement text reads: survive level 4.1 with only Flamethrower, Tesla Coil and Cryo Beam. Two turret types and one ability — which makes this the only no-other-abilities challenge on the all achievements page that hands you an ability back.
That exception is not a loophole, it is the design. Take the cryo beam away and the loadout has no way to buy time; the two turrets it names are not built to stop a wave on their own.
At 18.5% it sits between the three-type run on 5.1 at 17.2% and the buy-everything grind at 19.8%. In the sequence the achievement tracker recommends, it is the third of the five constrained runs, after 1.1 and 3.1.
What each of the three pieces actually does
The numbers below come from the player-measured stat sheet reproduced on the all turrets and abilities pages. Mumpitz Games has not published official figures for any of them.
Flamethrower — 3 ticks per second, 0.6 damage per tick, 3.5 second burn, short range, no listed penetration. Its two effects are a damage amp on burning orcs and a chance not to consume pierce, neither of which is quantified anywhere.
Tesla coil — 3.55 shots per second, 28 DPS, chains across 12 targets, aims through a full 360°, and applies confusion for 2.8 seconds. No penetration figure of its own; its reach comes from the chain, not from a projectile.
Orbital cryo beam — 6 seconds of duration, a 34 m radius, held for 4.4 seconds, and 50 damage when the frozen orcs defrost. It is a hold rather than a click, and what you are buying with it is time, not damage.
Why this trio and not another
The tesla coil page reads the combination as covering three jobs: softening, damage-through-effect, and chain-based cleanup. The turret roles framework names the same three jobs as power, support and cleanup, and that is where this loadout gets strange — it has support and cleanup, and no power turret at all.
Nothing in the set has the penetration to cut a column apart. The cannon's 31 penetration and the laser's 550 range are exactly what is missing. What the loadout has instead is a multiplier and a catcher: the flamethrower makes everything burning easier to kill, the tesla chain reaches 12 of them at once, and the cryo beam stops the wave moving while both do their slow work.
So the run is less about killing the wave than about never letting it arrive intact. The cryo beam is doing the job the missing power turret would have done, and it is the only piece with a limited budget.
How the placement rules stack here
Two placement rules from elsewhere on this site point in opposite directions, and on 4.1 you need both at once.
The flamethrower rule, drawn from the layouts on 4.2 and 5.2, is that it sits at the entrance of a narrow passage, and that two of them facing each other across a passage cover ground a single one cannot. Its range is short, so coverage is the whole point.
The tesla rule, stated on both the tesla coil and all turrets pages, is the reverse: it belongs behind the damage line, where its 12 jumps are spent on survivors rather than on the front of a wave it cannot penetrate. Front-lining it is the mistake the site flags most often.
On a normal level those two rules bracket a power turret in the middle. Here there is nothing in the middle, so the gap between the burn and the chain is exactly where the cryo beam has to go — on the group closest to your base rather than the largest group, which is the ordering rule the no-turret run page arrives at for the same reason.
One data point about the level itself
The site holds one first-hand report about 4.1, and it comes from a player complaining about a different level. On the 4.2 page, a player called Kharnath writes: "i can do 4.1 without a single orc getting through but i last about 3 seconds on 4.2."
That is worth holding onto for two reasons. It is direct evidence that 4.1 is clearable cleanly, with zero leaks, by a player who is nowhere near ready for the next level. And it is a reminder that the 4.x pair is not a smooth ramp — whatever your build is doing on 4.1, do not assume it transfers.
What we have not confirmed
Neither logged patch on the update history page names level 4.1, and neither mentions the flamethrower at all.
We do not have the wave composition, enemy counts or map layout for 4.1, and no player-published layout for the elemental run exists among the sources this site uses — itsuno's guide records the level used, not the placement. We cannot say how the flamethrower's damage amp or pierce retention scale with upgrade tiers, because no source publishes tier data for anything. We also cannot confirm whether the achievement counts a turret you place and then sell, or whether it is enforced on 4.1 specifically rather than simply being easiest there.
