Sephiria System Requirements: PC, Mac and Price

Sephiria is a top-down 2D-perspective roguelite, and its requirements reflect that: the published minimum is a 2017 CPU and a 2014 GPU. This is not a game that will be gated by your hardware. The details below matter mostly for old laptops, Macs, and knowing what the storage footprint is.

Windows

Minimum

  • 64-bit OS
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 750
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 2 GB available space

Recommended

  • 64-bit OS
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1700X
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 2 GB available space

Note what does not change between the two tiers: RAM stays at 8 GB and storage stays at 2 GB. The only step up is CPU and GPU, and both steps are small — a Ryzen 5 1400 to a 1700X is one generation of the same family, and a GTS 750 to a GTX 760 is one tier.

macOS

  • OS: Mac OS X 11.0 or later
  • Processor: Apple Silicon M1
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 7-core GPU
  • Storage: 2 GB available space

The Mac build is Apple Silicon. The listed processor is an M1 and the graphics requirement is a 7-core GPU, which is the base M1 MacBook Air configuration. There is no Intel Mac line in the published requirements.

Worth flagging: the Mac tier asks for 4 GB RAM against Windows' 8 GB. That is not a typo in our transcription — it is what the store page lists.

What actually constrains it

Storage is trivially small. 2 GB is unusual in 2026 and tells you most of what you need to know about the asset budget.

The engine changed during development. Sephiria moved from Unity 2022 to Unity 6 in the 0.901.0 beta, and 1.0.24 bumped it again to 6000.3.21f1. If you played during Early Access on old hardware and had problems, the engine underneath is not the one you tested.

DirectX 11, not 12. Both Windows tiers list DX11, which widens compatibility considerably on older GPUs.

Price and what you get

Sephiria launched at $14.99 with an introductory discount. That discount ended on 10 August 2026, and the Steam store returned to $14.99 (checked 12 August 2026). The developer has also said publicly that once the discount ended and Steam's one-month price-change cooldown has passed, the price will be increased — so $14.99 is a floor, not a ceiling. We have seen the "40% off" figure repeated widely, but Hound of the announcement only says "a big launch discount"; the exact percentage is not officially stated, so treat it as unverified. Bundles pair it with Heroes of Hammerwatch II, Dungreed and Ascend to ZERO.

For that you get 6 chapters, 6 weapon classes, roughly 300 artifacts and 70 tablets, 60+ enemy types, 10+ bosses, 27 Steam achievements, and online co-op for up to 4 players.

Languages

Twelve interface and subtitle languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish (Spain), Russian, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Swedish, Thai and Polish.

TEAM HORAY is a Korean studio, and the English text shows it in places — several mechanics have been renamed across patches ("fate engraving" became "Destiny Inscription," "Stone Tablets" became "Tablets," a talent has appeared as Survive, Endurance and Survival). This is worth knowing when comparing guides written at different times, because the same system can carry three names.

Reception, as a buying signal

At the time of writing Steam shows 7,931 reviews, "Very Positive," with the English subset at 1,560 reviews and 97% positive. For a $9 indie roguelite that had fifteen months of Early Access iteration before launch, that is about as clean a signal as the store provides.

Should you buy it for a Mac?

If you have any Apple Silicon Mac, yes — the requirement is the entry-level M1 configuration and the game is 2 GB. If you have an Intel Mac, the published requirements do not cover you, and we are not going to guess whether it runs under Rosetta because TEAM HORAY has not said.

One reason to check your Steam library first

Sephiria has a costume, Adventurer Bunny, whose unlock condition is simply owning Dungreed on Steam. Dungreed is TEAM HORAY's previous game, and the two are bundled together on the store page. If you already own it, you get the costume for free the moment you start Sephiria; if you are buying both, the bundle is the cheaper route.

It is the only unlock in the game that depends on something outside the game, and the only costume with no alternate appearance.

Steam Deck: Verified

Valve rates Sephiria Verified — the top tier — and it passes all four checks rather than scraping through on a technicality:

CheckResult
Default controller configuration fully functionalPass
Controller glyphs match the DeckPass
Interface text is legiblePass
Default configuration is performantPass

That third row is the one most games lose, and it is the one that matters here. Sephiria's whole build system lives in an inventory grid full of small item icons, and a game like that failing the legibility check on a 7-inch screen would make the Deck version genuinely worse to play. It does not fail it.

There is no native Linux build — Deck support runs through Proton. Given that the published Windows minimum is a 2017 CPU and a 2014 GPU with 2 GB of storage, the Deck is comfortably above spec.

Compatibility ratings change when a game patches. This one was read from Valve's own compatibility report for app 2436940 on 10 August 2026; check the badge on the store page if you are buying much later than that.

Checked against 1.0.30

Steam Deck: 1.0.30 notes an improvement for "the game closing in certain situations" on Deck — if you saw hard exits before 20 August, update before troubleshooting further. Engine: 1.0.24 moved the game to Unity 6000.3.21f1. Languages: 1.0.30 added Traditional Chinese, Italian and Turkish on top of the twelve listed at launch. Gamepad: 1.0.28 fixed Hard Mode level selection and 1.0.30 fixed Dash not firing when the auto-aim target overlapped your character.

Sources and what is not here

Everything above except the reception figures comes straight off the Steam store page. Review counts move daily; treat ours as a snapshot from 10 August 2026, not a current number.

The Steam Deck section comes from Valve's compatibility report, not from our own testing on a Deck.

We have no benchmark data — no frame rates, no measured load times, no comparison across GPU tiers. Nobody has published any for this game, and inventing them would be worse than the gap.
