Last reviewed: 1 September 2026 · Newest patch at review time: 1.0.30 (20 August 2026). TEAM HORAY's own 1.0 figures: about 300 Artifacts, about 70 Tablets, over 30 Potions. The 1.0.19 patch alone added 19 artifacts and 7 tablets. This page is about where those come from and how they relate — the mechanical detail of placement lives on the inventory grid page.
The relationship in one line: artifacts do the work, tablets decide how much of it they do. An artifact sitting on a cell with no tablet coverage is at level 0.

Where artifacts come from
There are more sources than most players realise, and several are one-time-only pools worth deliberately farming:
| Source | Notes |
|---|---|
| Artifact node | The obvious one — a room with a choice |
| Level Up node | Rewards include artifacts |
| Mini-boss kill | The grey-skull node modifier; always drops an artifact |
| Fixed shop | Every floor's starting room except floor 1 |
| Shop node / Wandering Merchant | The rat merchant bargains ~10% better than fixed shops |
| Secret rooms | Cracked walls; artifacts are the rarest of the possible rewards |
| Blood Donation | 33% of current HP to the Iron Maiden |
| Collin | 500 Leaf for Hiring Crest "Collin", a Companion-combo artifact |
| Dimensional Rift | Sapphires; 8 artifacts + 1 tablet unlock here permanently and nowhere else |
| Wandering Witch | Very rare; 11 artifacts + 2 tablets exclusive to her, sold cheap |
| Chest of Possibilities | 2 Sapphires, reroll cost doubles 4 → 8 → 16 |
| Wish Fountain | Carry chosen items into a run; base capacity 4 — see the capacity note below |
| Tree Roots | One Miracle per run, several of which grant a starting item |
Note that spelling: patch notes and item text use "Collin", not "Colin". The fountain's official English name is "Wish Fountain" — older community writing (including an earlier version of this page) calls it the "Wishing Fountain".
The capacity numbers do not reconcile, so here are all of them. The 0.10.0 update says, verbatim: "Wish Fountain: Base capacity increased from 3 to 4, and the maximum capacity obtainable through the talent 'Willpower' has been reduced from 6 to 5." The same announcement then lists Willpower's level-5 effect as "Wish Fountain capacity increased by 1" and its level-20 effect as "Wish Fountain capacity increase reduced from 6 to 4" — which sums to a base 4 plus 5 from the talent, not a maximum of 5. Our talents page prints the per-level lines; this page previously printed "up to +4 more". TEAM HORAY has not re-confirmed any of these numbers in the 1.0 patches, so we print the official text as published and flag that it disagrees with itself rather than pick a winner.
Rarity and levels
Artifacts have rarity tiers, and patch notes move items between them regularly — Golden Maple Leaf went Common → Rare, Water Elemental's Paw Wax went Legendary → Rare, Solis Dekri went Rare → Legendary. The tier names that appear in official text are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Advanced, Legendary, with a rarity indicator in the top-right of each item.
We will flag one caveat rather than paper over it: "Advanced" appears in patch notes both as an upgrade from Rare and as a downgrade to Rare. That is almost certainly one Korean grade translated inconsistently across builds, and it means the published ladder cannot be stated with confidence.
Levels are separate from rarity. Most artifacts scale through discrete levels with per-level stat arrays — Charm of Intelligence runs 3/4/6/8 Ice Damage, Shield Earrings runs 6/12/18/24 HP. Max level varies per artifact and is shown as empty stars above the item. Some artifacts have no levels at all.
This is why a bag full of level-0 artifacts underperforms a bag with four maxed ones. A player build guide puts it bluntly about its own core items: not maxing them "hurts the build drastically."
The conversion devices
Two objects let you launder items you do not want.
Mystic Pot. Reworked in 1.0: it now converts 1 artifact into a different artifact of the same rarity, or 2 artifacts into one of higher rarity. It is reusable, and turns up as a stage reward, in hidden rooms and occasionally in merchant rooms. (It originally did something else entirely — in its 0.10.9 form it turned artifacts into tablets. Guides written before 1.0 describe that older behaviour.)
Tablet Combiner. A random object that synthesises two tablets into one carrying both effects. It appears in every Safe Zone after Wasteland, next to the merchant, costs 200 Leaf, and works once per combiner.
Special artifact categories
Bond Artifacts are unique artifacts that connect two combos — roughly a dozen at introduction, five more added later. Their drop rule was loosened: they enter the drop table when one of the related combos is active, where originally both were required.
Activated Artifacts are ones you bind to a key in the skill window and use manually, rather than passives.
Heavy Heart is the odd one out: a Hard Mode modifier that starts you with an artifact that has no effect and cannot be discarded. It exists purely to cost you a slot.
Tablets, briefly
Tablets are the emitters. Each occupies one cell and projects buff values onto specific other cells — discrete offsets, a whole row/column/diagonal, or in one case a board-wide chessboard pattern. The community's open dataset catalogues 62 of them with full mechanics, including Requital (+3 to its entire row, the strongest line effect), Conviction (+5 to a single cell, the strongest point effect), and the four edge-anchored ones that do nothing unless placed on the correct grid edge.
They come from Tablet nodes, shops, and the Defense talent at level 5, which hands you a Foundation tablet at the start of every run. They are gated content — tablets must be unlocked in Destiny Inscription before tablet nodes appear at all, which is why that node is the first thing to buy.
Balance moves on tablets in 1.0.19: Nurture and Trick both dropped from Advanced to Common rarity, Competition's downward bonus went +2 → +3, Wave's diagonal went +2 → +3, and Daydream was reworked from eight weak cells to +2 on each of the four diagonals.
What "empower them with Tablets" means concretely
The store's phrasing is "Collect and arrange Artifacts and empower them with the different Tablets." Concretely:
- You place an artifact on a cell.
- Every tablet whose pattern reaches that cell contributes its value, positive or negative.
- The sum is that artifact's level for as long as it sits there.
Move the artifact one cell and its level changes. That is the entire loop, and it is why the inventory screen is where Sephiria runs are actually won or lost.
Two corrections to circulating claims
"Wisdom level 10 gives +2 combo" is not right for 1.0. What Wisdom 10 does is unlock [Unique] Stacking: duplicates get offered, and taking one adds a star to the copy you already hold. There is a combo interaction, but TEAM HORAY explicitly stated it was not extended to combo-changing artifacts (Chalcedony Key, White Paper) for technical reasons — and separately fixed a bug where the UI displayed a combo increase that was never applied.
"Völuspá" is not a confirmed artifact name. It does not appear in any Steam announcement, on the store page, or in the community dataset. It circulates widely on auto-generated wikis. Until it turns up in a primary source, we are not listing it.
Two artifacts changed in the August patches
The launch-era rule that no artifact balance had moved since 1.0.19 expired in August: 1.0.26 fixed the Green Sawblade so its buff stacks correctly when 30 or more MP is spent at once, and 1.0.30 gave the Frozen Bow arrows that pass through walls — a real capability buff, marked as community-requested in TEAM HORAY's notes. The same patches fixed Tablet Imprinting eating Tablets whose activation conditions were unmet, and barred undiscardable Tablets from the Tablet Combiner. Details on the 1.0.25–1.0.30 patch page.
The counting problem
The developer says "about 300 artifacts" and "about 70 tablets." A community data audit at 1.0.24/1.0.25 counts 236 artifacts and 92 tablets. Those do not reconcile, and we are not going to invent a methodology that makes them. Treat the developer's figures as the intended scale and the community's as what someone has actually catalogued.
