Race Horses Racing Guide: Hurdles, Wins and Prize Cash
Scope: Race rules from the game description and eleven race badges; cash multipliers from the game pass and developer products APIs, all on 2026-10-01; payout formulas do not appear in Roblox's public data for the game
Key points
- A new race starts every minute, and every horse has a random chance of winning; better horses earn more.
- Some races have hurdles, and horses can trip on them.
- Prize cash can pass $100,000 in one race, and a last-place horse can earn more than the winner.
- Two ways to double race cash are sold: the X2 RACE CASH pass (329 Robux) and the Double Race Earnings product (59).
In Race Horses a new race starts every minute, and your horses run in it for cash. Every horse has a random chance of winning, but better horses earn more. Some races add hurdles, prize money can top $100,000 in a single race, and, oddly, a last-place horse can sometimes earn more than the winner.
Gorilla Grafters publishes no Race Horses rulebook. This guide pieces the rules together from the game description and the eleven race badges, which describe specific race outcomes in the developer's own words.
What does the developer say about races?
Three lines of the description cover racing:
- "Build your stable, hatch your own horses, and race them for cash!"
- "🏇 A new race every minute"
- "🏆 All horses have a random chance of winning but better horses earn more!"
So winning a Race Horses race is partly luck, and earnings scale with quality. "Better" is not defined. Rarity, level and traits are the obvious candidates, but we could not confirm how each one counts. The horses and Index guide lists what varies between horses.
What do the race badges reveal?
Each race badge is a small rule in disguise. Read together:
| Badge | Official requirement | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Super Sprinter | Finish a race in less than 35 seconds! | Races are timed, and under 35 seconds counts as fast |
| Photo Finish | Win a race by just 0.2 seconds or less | Finishing margins are measured in tenths |
| Casual Stroll | Finish a race in last place by 0.8 seconds or more. | Margins at the back are tracked too |
| Final Stretch | Be both first and last place in the same race! | Suggests you can enter several horses in one race |
| Ooh! Aah! | Win a race with hurdles! | Some races have hurdles |
| To Race Another Day | Trip up on a hurdle! | Horses can trip on hurdles |
| Shooting Star! | Win on your horse's first ever race! | Race history is tracked per horse |
| Racer's Riches | Win $100k+ in one race! | One race can pay out over $100,000 |
| Secret Victory | Win more cash in last place than the 1st place racer. | Cash is not decided by finishing place alone |
| Horsepower | Win 10 races with the same horse! | Wins are counted per horse |
| Winning Stride | Win a race! | — |
The right-hand column is our reading of the requirement. Final Stretch is the clearest example: being first and last at once only works if two of the horses are yours.
Why can last place earn more than first?
Secret Victory is a real Race Horses badge, and it had been awarded 76,676 times by 1 October 2026, so it is not a fluke. If finishing place alone set the prize, it would be impossible. Something else feeds into cash: perhaps the horse's quality, given the description's "better horses earn more", or a multiplier such as X2 RACE CASH. We could not confirm the formula. The practical point is that a strong horse still earns well on a bad day.
How do hurdle races work?
The two hurdle badges were created on 7 and 8 September 2026, so hurdles most likely arrived that week. Tripping is common: To Race Another Day had been awarded 1,277,129 times. We could not confirm how often a race has hurdles, or whether a trip costs time or knocks a horse out. The update history shows what else changed that week.
How can you earn more from each race?
| Option | Price | Official description |
|---|---|---|
| X2 RACE CASH (game pass) | 329 Robux | Get 2x cash from all races! |
| Double Race Earnings (product) | 59 Robux | X2 your race earnings!! |
| Upgrade your stable | In-game | "Upgrade your stable to earn faster" |
| Better horses | In-game | "better horses earn more" |
A game pass stays on your Roblox account. Double Race Earnings is a developer product instead, and the developer does not say whether its boost is temporary or how long it lasts, and nothing says whether it stacks with the pass. If you plan to play for weeks, the pass is the safer buy; details are in the game pass guide.
Does racing continue when you are offline?
The description says "your stable keeps earning even offline", and a Double Offline Earnings product (39 Robux, no description) exists. Whether offline earnings come from simulated races or a flat stable rate is not stated. The care and stable guide covers the stable side.
Which race badges should you chase first?
Our suggestion, ordered by how often each has been awarded:
- Winning Stride, Super Sprinter, Final Stretch are among the most-awarded badges; enter more than one horse for Final Stretch.
- Ooh! Aah! and To Race Another Day need a hurdle race; keep racing until one comes up.
- Photo Finish and Shooting Star! are luck; Shooting Star! needs a fresh horse, so race new hatches straight away.
- Racer's Riches needs a big payout; it comes with stronger horses and multipliers.
- Horsepower needs 10 wins on one horse; race your best horse every time.
