Race Horses Eggs and Rarities: All 7 Tiers to Exotic

Scope: Egg products, hatch skips and gift prices from the Roblox developer products API; rarity ladder from the badges API, both on 2026-10-01; in-game cash prices and odds do not appear in Roblox's public data for the game

Key points

  • There are seven egg tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic and Exotic.
  • In the Robux store an egg costs from 9 (Common) to 2,799 (Exotic); the Exotic Egg is 2.8 times the price of the Mythic Egg.
  • Eggs hatch on a timer after you place them; skipping costs 9 to 99 Robux by tier, or INSTANT Hatch! removes the wait for 399.
  • Hatch odds and in-game cash prices do not appear in the game's Roblox listing or store data.

Race Horses has seven egg tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic and Exotic. Each has its own hatch badge and its own Robux product, from 9 Robux for a Common Egg to 2,799 for an Exotic Egg. Eggs hatch on a timer once placed, and every tier above Common has a paid skip.

At least one Race Horses fan site we checked on 1 October 2026 still lists only six rarities. The seventh, Exotic, appears in Roblox's data with the Exotic Egg, created on 22 September 2026, and the Fruity Foal badge, created a day later. Prices below come from the Roblox developer products API, checked on 1 October 2026.

Gift eggs cost the same as buying for yourself. There is no hatch skip for Common eggs in the store. One oddity: the Buy Common Egg product's official description reads "Buy an uncommon egg", which looks like a copy-paste slip; we list it by its name.

These are Robux prices. The game description says to "buy eggs and hatch your own horses", and the Starter Pack hands out $10,000 in game cash, which suggests eggs can also be bought with cash. We have not confirmed that, or what any egg costs in cash.

How rare is each tier?

No hatch odds are published. The closest public measure is the hatch badges: how many players have hatched at least one horse of each tier.

TierBadge awardsPer 100 first commons
Common3,139,857100
Uncommon1,692,24153.9
Rare1,017,07832.4
Epic450,59514.4
Legendary158,0435.0
Mythic38,3211.22
Exotic6,1020.19

Read this as "how many players got that far", not as drop rates. A player who buys a Mythic Egg on day one counts the same as one who hatched hundreds of eggs first. Badge totals for the first five tiers date from 6 July; the Mythic badge was added on 22 August and the Exotic one on 23 September. The full list is in all 24 badges.

How does hatching work?

The store's own wording gives the outline:

  1. Place the egg. The INSTANT Hatch! game pass says "All eggs hatch instantly upon placing!", so eggs are placed and then hatch.
  2. Wait for the timer. Each Skip Hatch Timer product is described simply as "Time is money". The skip price rises with the tier, which suggests rarer eggs take longer, though the timer lengths themselves are not published.
  3. Meet your horse. Coat, eye size and traits are rolled at random. The horses and Index guide covers what can vary.

If you hatch often, the 399-Robux INSTANT Hatch! pass replaces every skip. At Legendary skip prices (59), it pays for itself after seven skips; at Mythic (79), after six. That is our arithmetic, not an official comparison.

Is the Starter Pack worth 25 Robux?

The Starter Pack is described as "Rare Egg + $10,000 + 1 Golden Apple!". Bought separately in the store, a Rare Egg is 79 Robux and a Golden Apple 39, so the pack's egg and apple alone are worth 118 Robux at store prices, before counting the cash. For a new player it is the best-value product in the store by that measure. Whether it can be bought more than once is not stated.

Should you buy an Exotic Egg?

Our view: only if the Index or the Fruity Foal badge matters to you. At 2,799 Robux it costs more than all five game passes combined (1,635). Nothing official says an Exotic horse wins more often; the description says only that "better horses earn more", and every horse has "a random chance of winning". For earning, X2 RACE CASH in the game pass guide is the cheaper lever.

Which egg gives the best value for Robux?

Price jumps between tiers are uneven. Our arithmetic from the store prices:

  • Uncommon (39) costs 4.3 times a Common (9).
  • Epic (249) costs 3.2 times a Rare (79), while Legendary (349) is only 1.4 times an Epic.
  • Mythic (999) is 2.9 times a Legendary, and Exotic (2,799) is 2.8 times a Mythic.

The step from Epic to Legendary is the cheapest jump in the ladder. If you are buying with Robux and want a top-five tier, Legendary is the tier we would look at first.

What we could not confirm

  • The hatch odds for each egg, or whether an egg can roll more than one tier.
  • The in-game cash price of each egg.
  • How long each hatch timer runs.
  • Whether shop stock limits eggs; a Restock Shop! product (59 Robux) exists, which suggests shops can sell out.
