Escape Prison with a Toothpick Gems: Sources, Spins and Upgrades

Scope: Official group announcement, event listing, badge and developer-product records read 5 November 2026 (UTC); per-Robux figures are editorial arithmetic

Key points

  • Gems come from digging, escaping and daily rewards, according to the developer.
  • They are spent in the lobby: 20 gems per class spin, plus lobby upgrades.
  • Badges list up to +40% gems in total, and the Jeweller class doubles gems.
  • Robux gem packs range from 100 Gems for 49 Robux to 1,500 Gems for 399 Robux.

Gems are the lobby currency in Escape Prison with a Toothpick. The developer says they come from digging, escaping and daily rewards, and you spend them on class spins (20 gems each) and lobby upgrades. Cash is a separate currency used in the prison shop during a run, so gems carry over between escapes.

Where do gems come from?

The CLASSES UPDATE announcement names three sources: "digging, escaping and daily rewards." The Gem Magnet badge adds a detail on the digging part: it asks you to "Dig up 7 gem blocks in one game," so gems appear as blocks in the ground you dig through.

The announcement does not give amounts for an escape or a daily reward. A developer product named 15 Gems describes "15 gems to spend in the lobby - free for watching a short video!" Its record still lists a price of 10 Robux, so the store record and its wording disagree. Check the in-game prompt before you accept it.

Which bonuses raise gem income?

The six badge bonuses add up to +40%. The permanent bonuses guide lists every other stat the badges raise. Gem Magnet is the most common of these on the badge list, with 132,965 awards on 5 November.

What do gems buy?

Two things are named in the official records. Class spins cost 20 gems each; see the class guide for what each roll can give. Lobby upgrades are bought by level. The Gem Upgrade products describe levels "costing up to 60 gems," "up to 130 gems," "up to 260 gems" and "the biggest levels," which shows that later levels cost more.

The GEM SHOP!! event listing (from 16 October 2026) was subtitled "DRONES THAT HELP" and said the gem shop was coming to the lobby. The Drone Buddy pass mentions "one you rent," so drones can be rented, but the records do not say whether rent is paid in gems. The tools guide covers drones.

How do the Robux gem packs compare?

Prices are listings read on 5 November 2026. Gems per Robux and spins per pack are our arithmetic (spins = gems ÷ 20, rounded down).

ProductListed RobuxGems per RobuxClass spins
100 Gems492.045
250 Gems992.5312
600 Gems1993.0230
1,500 Gems3993.7675

Larger packs give more gems per Robux. For comparison, 250 Gems (99 Robux) covers 12 spins, while the 10 Class Spins product lists 129 Robux. The spin products carry no description, so the records do not say whether their spins differ from gem-paid ones. Compare every offer on the Robux shop page. This is listing arithmetic, not advice to buy.
