How to Play Southern Mudding on Roblox: First Session

To play Southern Mudding, join a server, spawn a vehicle and drive it into the mud. From there the game is an open sandbox: hook up a trailer, haul or tow something, claim a house, and tune your truck in the customization garage. There is no stated win condition; the developer describes off-roading, playing with friends, roleplay and customizing.

That summary comes from the official Roblox description and the game's four badges. The plan further down is our advice, and we say where it rests on something we have not checked in game.

What does the developer say you can do?

The description is short, so every phrase matters. Here is each activity it names, and the page that covers it:

The developer also writes that the game "is built around depth, realism, and steady improvement" and that updates are planned "entirely around your suggestions".

Which steps do the badges mark?

Southern Mudding has four badges, and they read like a checklist for a first visit. The totals show how far most players get:

The last column is our arithmetic on Roblox's award totals from 11:19 UTC on 2 October 2026. It compares badge counts, not one tracked group of players. Still, the drop is clear: there is roughly one trailer badge for every two Welcome badges, and fewer than one house badge for every ten. The badge guide has the full numbers.

What should you do in your first session?

Our suggested order. Steps 2 to 5 follow the badges; the reasoning is ours.

1. Join the Roblox group first. The group description reads "Join the group for a free pickup truck!". We could not confirm which truck it is or whether you must rejoin the server to receive it, so do this before you load in. See group, codes and Discord.
2. Spawn a vehicle. That earns Spawned a Vehicle. The description lists pickup trucks first, and the 25 September update was aimed at them, so a pickup is a reasonable first choice.
3. Drive off the road. The map is "purpose built for the off-road". Find mud and learn how your truck behaves before you add a load.
4. Spawn a trailer and hook it up. That earns Spawned a Trailer. How trailers attach is not described in public data, so expect to experiment.
5. Claim a house. That earns Claimed a House, the rarest of the four. Where the houses are is not in public data either.
6. Visit the customization garage. The 25 September update says nitrous for pickup trucks is added there.

How many vehicles can you have out at once?

Two vehicles and two trailers, going by the pass descriptions: Spawn 4 Vehicles "Increases vehicle spawn limit from 2 to 4!" and Spawn 4 Trailers "Increases trailer spawn limit from 2 to 4!". If those descriptions are current, a new player can run a truck and a second vehicle, each with a trailer, without paying. The spawning guide covers the four passes that change those limits.

Who makes Southern Mudding and how big is a server?

A server holds ten players at most. With private servers switched off, playing with friends means joining the same public server.

Do you need Robux to enjoy Southern Mudding?

Not as far as the public data shows. Nothing in the description puts the core loop behind a purchase, and none of the four badge requirements mentions one. Passes add vehicle packs, more spawn slots and remote tools; none is described as required. If you want one purchase early, the cheapest are the two 80-Robux customization passes, but read the game pass guide first, because several gift versions cost less than the pass itself.

What do we not know yet?

These need an in-game check and are not shown in Roblox's public data:

• the controls and where the spawn, garage and house menus are;
• which vehicles are free and which cost in-game money;
• what the in-game currency is called and how it is earned;
• how the group reward is delivered.

We will add them once they are confirmed. Until then, treat any site that states them without a source with care.
