Deep Fishing Rarity Tiers, Mutations and Secret Odds

Scope: Badge totals are a 2026-09-29 snapshot of the Roblox badge API; percentages are our own division of those totals

Key points

  • The badge list names three high tiers — Legendary, Mythical and Secret — plus Mutated fish as a separate track.
  • About 48 of every 100 badge holders have landed a Legendary, 31 a Mythical and only 8 a Secret.
  • Mutations are the common one: 85 of every 100 have caught a mutated fish.
  • The store sells mutation help — the More Mutations pass, rerolls and Ultra Mutation Scrolls — but publishes no odds.

Deep Fishing's own badges name three high rarity tiers — Legendary, Mythical and Secret — plus mutated fish as a separate track. Badge totals show how rare each one really is: roughly 48% of players with the Welcome badge have caught a Legendary, 31% a Mythical and only about 8% a Secret.

Nobody outside LazyGames knows the exact drop rates, and the developer has not published them. What we do have is better than a guess: Roblox publicly counts how many times every badge has been awarded. Those counts are the most honest rarity chart available for this game.

Which rarity tiers does the game confirm?

The developer created one "first catch" badge for each notable tier. Their names and descriptions come word for word from the Roblox badge API.

BadgeOfficial descriptionTimes awarded (29 Sep 2026)Per 100 Welcome badges

First MythicalYou caught your first Mythical!646,96330.7
First SecretYou caught your first Secret!165,6057.9

The last column is our own arithmetic: each badge's total divided by the Welcome! total. It answers a plain question — out of everyone who has the game's entry badge, how many ever got that far?

Lower tiers below Legendary are not named in any official source we could find, so we do not list them here.

How rare is a Secret fish, really?

Rare, but not impossible. Fewer than 8 in every 100 badge holders have one. Compare that with Legendary: roughly six players have a Legendary for every one who has a Secret.

Two cautions keep these numbers honest. First, the badges were created on 28 July, about ten days after the game launched on 18 July, so very early players who never came back are missing from every total. Second, the ratio counts people, not casts — it says nothing about how long each player fished before the first Secret.

The official description does say that new waters hold rarer fish. That is why the rod ladder and distance upgrades matter more for Secret hunting than any single boost.

Why are mutations so much more common?

First Mutation is the second most common badge in the game, ahead of even the 50 Catches milestone. So a mutation is not a rare tier sitting above Secret; it is something most players see early.

The badge wording, "your first Mutated Fish", treats mutation as a state a fish can have. The official store backs that up: the More Mutations game pass promises to help you "Find more mutated Fishes!", and separate products let you reroll a mutation or use an Ultra Mutation Scroll.

What each mutation is called, how much it multiplies a fish's value, and the reroll odds are not documented anywhere official. Third-party sites name a "Diamond" mutation, but we have not confirmed it.

Does Auto Sell ever hurt rarity hunting?

It can. The Auto Sell pass sells your fish automatically, which is great for volume. But if you are chasing the First Mutation or First Secret badge — or want to reroll a mutation — check what you caught before it is gone. Our suggestion is to keep a close eye on your hauls while hunting a specific badge, and lean on Auto Sell once you are back to farming coins. The full pass list is on the game pass page.

Which boosts lean towards rare fish?

The store sells three luck passes (Lucky, Super Lucky, Ultra Lucky), server-wide luck from x2 to x16, and several one-throw boosts. None of them publish a number. Our advice: use luck when you are already reaching new water, and focus on distance first. The Robux shop guide lists every one with its price.
