In How To Drift on Roblox you drive with WASD, hold Space for the handbrake and change gear with E and Q. Pressing Q in 1st gear drops you into neutral, and pressing it again selects reverse. Drifting and racing earn cash, and the garage (G) is where that cash becomes a better car.
What does every key do in How To Drift?
The developer prints the full PC key list in the game description. Here it is as a table, with the exact wording in the second column.

The third column is our plain-English reading of each label. The description does not say which of E and Q shifts up or down. Our reading, inferred only from "Q from 1st = N, again = R", is that Q steps down through the gears and E steps up.
UrGameTips adds that F also gets you into a friend's passenger seat. Touch, gamepad and steering-wheel layouts are not listed anywhere official. A YouTube video by SUNDAY SAN is titled "HOW TO DRIFT [Roblox] + G29 STEERING WHEEL!", so at least one player drives How To Drift with a wheel, but zero sugar studios has not documented wheel support.
Why will my car not reverse in How To Drift?
This is the gear rule above in action. The description places reverse in the gear sequence (Q from 1st = N, again = R); it does not say whether S also reverses. If the car will not back out of a wall, and if Q is the downshift key as read above:
- Pressing Q should take you down to 1st.
- From 1st, one press of Q gives neutral (N), per the description.
- A second press of Q gives reverse (R), per the description.
- To drive forward again, E should take you back up through the gears.
How do you earn cash in How To Drift?
The opening line of the description is the loop: drift for cash, build your dream car, slide across 7 maps with friends. The pass and product text confirms that both drifts and races pay: the 2x Cash pass doubles "cash from every drift and race".

What are the How To Drift maps and races?
The description says there are 7 maps, all inside a single Roblox place (the universe has one place). Only one map is named in the sources we could read: the Touge, a mountain pass with hairpins. Destructoid mentions its hairpins; UrGameTips calls it Touge Pass and describes a drive-in garage called "DRIFT CUSTOMS", a tunnel and a red bridge.
Races were expanded on 20 October 2026. According to the description, every map gained more races and some races now rotate in and out each week. Details of that patch are in the update log; the in-game list lives under "What's New" in the settings menu.
