Patch 1.0.11 — September 8, 2026
The fifth patch, still working the same two problems: cutscene pacing and combat balance.
- More skippable event scenes and cutscenes — skips now cover select scenes up through the Great Wall Terraces zone, still short of full coverage. Game Freak says it expects to finish the rollout shortly.
- Dialogue pauses and cut lengths adjusted in certain scenes for pacing; a side effect is that some players mid-playthrough may see a handful of lines play twice.
- Emma and Koo's alternate skins and cosmetics now show up during cutscenes — deluxe-edition cosmetics were previously invisible in story scenes.
- Film grain, chromatic aberration, and cutscene post-processing toggles (added for PC in 1.0.10) are now available on console too.
- Skill tree respec for skills tied to the tree's flower nodes, plus more SP-granting nodes placed in the world.
- Combat tuning — adjustments to Blade Arts, finishers, Nushi-derived skills, and ranged weapons, plus attack pattern and frequency changes on certain Nushi.
- Bug fixes including a cap that silently converted “Decayed Charms” past 99 into money on appraisal (not retroactively recoverable), display errors on Spirit Stone counts and Koo's pounce rate, and a Shido iaido-strike hit-registration bug.
Patch 1.0.10 — August 31, 2026
The fourth patch, and the largest by fix count — mostly aimed at exploration friction and a long tail of bugs.
- Toggle for film grain and chromatic aberration, plus a separate toggle for cutscene post-processing (PC only at this point).
- SP-granting “Blight Sprouts” added to every zone, and “Fractured Amber” nodes added to select zones.
- Overflow items now auto-convert to Amber once inventory capacity is reached, and pickup range/priority for standard items was retuned so full-inventory items stop getting in the way.
- Ranged-weapon aiming changed to hold-to-aim, with input buffering added during slides, roll evasion, and standard slashes; knockback recovery also works from D-pad up now.
- Flying and ranged enemies flinch more easily.
- A long list of bug fixes: an invisible-wall softlock in Subcity 02, a boss-retry progression block in the Great Wall Terraces zone, several Koo companion issues (blocking the camera, not approaching at camps, freezing after fast travel), multiple Nushi hit-registration and camera problems, and a fast-travel/achievement bug that could drop players below the terrain. Boss-battle performance was also optimized and some effect rendering load reduced.
Patch 1.0.9 — August 24, 2026
The biggest quality-of-life drop so far, and the first to touch the game's pacing complaints directly.
- Ultrawide monitor support — native 21:9 rendering, one of the most-requested PC features since day one.
- Frame generation for DLSS and FSR — on supported cards (RTX 40/50, recent Radeon) this raises the practical frame-rate ceiling well past the launch build's, which matters in a parry game.
- Skippable cutscenes — the single most direct answer to the “over-long cutscenes” criticism that ran through launch reviews; retry loops on story-adjacent bosses are much faster now.
- Healing improvements — adjustments to how healing behaves in combat.
Patch 1.0.8 — August 15, 2026
- DLSS 4 / 4.5 and FSR 4 support — the launch build shipped with older upscaler versions; this brought the modern stacks and their better image quality at Performance settings.
- Camera distance options — lets you pull the camera back, a direct response to the cramped boss-arena framing players complained about.
- Subtitle sizing and water-detection fixes.
Patch 1.0.7 — August 9, 2026
Five days after launch, aimed at the loudest week-one feedback:
- Camera adjustments in combat — the boss camera was the most consistent complaint across both reviews and player forums.
- Boss balance changes — tuning pass on encounter difficulty.
- Text sizing and story pacing tweaks.
What the cadence tells you
Five substantive patches in five weeks is a fast cycle for a studio's first AAA action game, and the targeting is consistent: every update has gone after the specific criticisms in launch coverage — camera, PC feature parity, pacing — rather than generic bug lists. Steam's review trend reflects it: the rating had climbed from roughly 54% positive in launch week to 65% positive by the end of August, and the team is still shipping fixes at the same pace two patches later. If you bounced off the launch build, the current version addresses a meaningful share of what reviewers dinged; if you are deciding whether to buy, judge the game by 1.0.11, not by day-one footage.
What is still open: the boss-fight frame dips on consoles are reduced but not gone (engine-load territory rather than a settings toggle), full cutscene-skip coverage is not finished (1.0.11 only extends it through the Great Wall Terraces zone), and Steam Deck remains unverified. Game Freak has also flagged a difficulty mode above Hard, harder New Game Plus options, and auto-pickup for enemy drops as work still in progress. We update this page as each new patch lands.
What each patch means for the guides on this site
Patch notes only matter if you know which advice they expire. The camera and balance work in 1.0.7 means boss-difficulty impressions from launch week — including the harshest early Steam reviews — describe fights that have since been tuned; our boss guide leans on chapter/level data rather than launch-week feel for exactly that reason. The upscaler overhaul in 1.0.8 changes the calculus on our PC requirements page: the official minimum tier was written against older DLSS/FSR versions, so owners of recent cards get noticeably more headroom than the listed targets imply. 1.0.9's skippable cutscenes shorten the effective retry loop on story-adjacent bosses, which nudges the practical difficulty down a notch without touching a single damage number, and 1.0.11 extends that same skip coverage further into the game. The 1.0.11 skill tree respec also means build guides can stop treating flower-node skill points as a one-way commitment.
Two things patches have not changed: the achievement list (all 46 entries and their unlock logic are stable, so the completion roadmap holds), and the single-ending structure (endings guide). If a future update touches either, this page will flag it the day the notes land.
How updates install
All three platforms auto-update by default: Steam applies patches on launch, and PS5/Xbox pull them in the background when the console is in rest/standby with updates enabled. There is no manual download path and no way to roll back to an earlier version on any platform — worth knowing before you read speedrun or glitch content written against older builds.
FAQ
What is the current version of Beast of Reincarnation?
1.0.11, released September 8, 2026, on all platforms.
Where do official patch notes come from?
Game Freak publishes them as Steam announcements (linked below) and on the platform stores. This page summarizes each one and adds context on what prompted the change.
Did the patches fix the performance problems?
Partially. PC gained modern upscalers, frame generation and ultrawide; consoles got camera and balance work, and 1.0.10 specifically optimized performance during certain boss battles. Boss-arena frame dips on PS5 are improved but still reported. The performance page tracks the platform-by-platform state.
Are cutscenes fully skippable yet?
Not yet. Skipping started rolling out in 1.0.9 and, as of 1.0.11, covers select scenes up through the Great Wall Terraces zone. Game Freak has said it expects full coverage shortly, without giving a firm date.
Is there DLC or a roadmap?
No post-launch content roadmap has been announced — every update so far has been fixes and features, not new content. Game Freak has confirmed it is still working on a difficulty mode above Hard, harder New Game Plus options, and auto-pickup for enemy drops. We will track any announcement here.
